Discussion of Issues Related to People Experiencing Homelessness in the City of Newport Beach
Recommendation
Given extensive public interest in discussion of a temporary homeless shelter, the City Council will meet to discuss all issues related to people experiencing homelessness in the City of Newport Beach including, but not limited to, the number of people experiencing homelessness in Newport Beach and in Orange County; local laws and court decisions that impact anti-camping and panhandling regulation; the purpose and actions of the Homeless Task Force; and short-term and long-term strategies for addressing homelessness in Newport Beach including the possibility of providing a temporary homeless shelter at various sites in Newport Beach.
