Appointment of a New City Manager

Recommendation

a)                     Determine this action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Sections 15060(c)(2) and 15060(c)(3) of the CEQA Guidelines because this action will not result in a physical change to the environment, directly or indirectly;

b)                     Appoint Assistant City Manager Carol Jacobs as Acting City Manager from September 1, 2018 to September 3, 2018; and

c)                     Adopt Resolution No. 2018-63, A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, California, Appointing a New City Manager Effective September 2, 2018 and Authorizing the Mayor to Execute the Employment Agreement Between the City of Newport Beach and the New City Manager.
