Ordinance No. 2026-08: Updating Title 1 (General Provisions) of the Newport Beach Municipal Code Related to City Employees' Enforcement of the Municipal Code and State Law
Recommendation
a) Find the adoption of this ordinance is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Sections 15060(c)(2) and 15060(c)(3) of the CEQA Guidelines because this action will not result in a physical change to the environment, directly or indirectly; and
b) Waive full reading of an Ordinance, read by title only, conduct a second reading and adopt Ordinance No. 2026-08, An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, California, Amending Section 1.12.020 (Authority of Public Officers or Employees to Issue Citations), Chapter 1.12 (Citations and Warrants), Title 1 (General Provisions) of the Newport Beach Municipal Code Related to City Employees’ Enforcement of the Municipal Code and State Law.
