Response to the 2025-2026 Orange County Grand Jury Report “Wildfires Hit Home”
Recommendation
a) Determine this action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Sections 15060(c)(2) and 15060(c)(3) of the CEQA Guidelines because this action will not result in a physical change to the environment, directly or indirectly;
b) Approve the Newport Beach Fire Department’s response to the 2025-2026 Grand Jury Report, “Wildfires Hit Home”, authorize the Mayor to sign the cover letter, and authorize the Fire Chief to finalize and submit the response on behalf of the City of Newport Beach to the Presiding Judge of the Orange County Superior Court.
