Discussion of Police Substation Concept

Recommendation
City staff will provide a presentation regarding the concept of police substations, which are smaller, geographically distributed police facilities, as a potential alternative to, or complement of, a single consolidated headquarters building. This discussion is intended to inform the Committee's broader evaluation of facility options for the Newport Beach Police Department.

Recommended Actions:

1.Receive and discuss staff and public input on the police substation concept; and

2.Consider providing a recommendation to the City Council regarding whether and how to incorporate the substation model into the Committee's ongoing site and feasibility evaluation.
